VIRTUAL PARTICIPATION POLICY

From all of us at the Nevada Association of SkillsUSA, thank you for participating in our online, virtual, or social media programs and accounts. SkillsUSA Nevada participates in social media in an effort to engage individuals, students, parents and organizations in leading educated lives. SkillsUSA Nevada provides content on our website NVSKILLSUSA.ORG, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other online resources to notify community members on events and to operate our programs.

While we encourage fans to share thoughts and opinions on our social media pages, we expect that this will be done in a respectful manner.

SkillsUSA Nevada does not agree with nor endorse every comment that individuals post on our pages. Our goal is to share ideas and information with as many individuals as possible and our policy is to accept the majority of comments made to our profile. 

Therefore, a comment will be deleted if it contains:

  • Hate speech,
  • bullying,
  • Profanity,
  • obscenity or vulgarity, 
  • Nudity in profile pictures or posts, 
  • Defamation to a person or people, 
  • Name calling and/or personal attacks,
  • Comments whose main purpose are to sell a product,
  • Comments that infringe on copyrights or other intellectual property rights,
  • Spam comments, such as the same comment posted repeatedly on a profile, 
  • Links to non-government sites, and 
  • Other comments that the SkillsUSA Nevada Social Media team deems inappropriate.

Your school/district behavior policy is in effect on our resources.

All links posted as comments on SkillsUSA Nevada posts will be reviewed and may be deleted.

Repeated violations of the SkillsUSA Nevada comment policy may cause the author to be banned from the SkillsUSA Nevada online resources. 

We understand that social media is a 24/7 medium; however, our moderation capabilities are not. We may not see every inappropriate comment right away, and we are trusting in the maturity and professionalism of our community to ignore personal attacks and negative speech or respond politely.

Comments posted by SkillsUSA Nevada employees and members do not necessarily represent the views and opinions of SkillsUSA Nevada and have not been reviewed nor approved by SkillsUSA Nevada prior to posting on social media networks. Employees and members are expected to remain respectful of our organization, its products, services, customers, partners, affiliates, vendors, suppliers and competitors.  Employees and members should act professionally and not post material that is obscene, vulgar, defamatory, threatening, discriminatory, harassing, abusive, hateful or embarrassing to another person or entity.

By simply accessing the Nevada SkillsUSA Website and participation in any online/virtual event, you agree to the following:

CODE OF CONDUCT

The State Leadership Conference, Nevada SkillsUSA Championships and all other official events and activities are designed to be
educational functions and all plans are made with that objective. These functions are the two primary events sponsored each year by
the Nevada Association; the functions are approved by the Department of Education and every school district and community college
in the State.

The Nevada Association of SkillsUSA wants every participant to have an enjoyable experience, one that helps them grow personally
and professionally. All participants will be expected to conduct themselves in a manner best representing the Association and their
local chapters at these important functions. In order that everyone receives the maximum benefits from their participation, the “Code
of Conduct” must be followed at all times.

Please note that attendance at the state conferences is not mandatory.

Please note that participation at any virtual event is not mandatory.

By volunteering to participate, you agree to follow the official
conference rules and regulations or forfeit your personal rights to participate. We are proud of our student members, they are the
organization, and know that by agreeing to this Code of Conduct you are simply reaffirming your dedication to be the best representative possible of your school/college.

  1. I will not use alcoholic beverages. I will not use drugs unless I have been ordered to take certain prescription medications by a
    licensed physician. If I am required to take medication, I will, at all times, have the orders of the physician on my person.
  2. My conduct shall be exemplary at all times.
  3. I will attend, and be on time for, all general sessions and activities that I am assigned to and registered for.
  4. I will adhere to the dress code at all required times.

Photography and Sound Release

I hereby grant SkillsUSA Nevada to make still or motion pictures and sound recordings, separately or in combination, and also give
other entities authorized by SkillsUSA Nevada permission to use the pictures and/or sound recordings as deemed necessary for
promotional and/or educational purposes.

Further, I so hereby relinquish to SkillsUSA Nevada all rights, title, interest in, and income from the finished sound recordings, still photos, and/or video recordings, and all originals, negatives, recording duplicates and prints, and give SkillsUSA Nevada the right to give, sell, transfer and/or exhibit the same to any individual, business firm, publication,
television station, radio station or network, or governmental agency, or to any of their assignees, without payment or other consideration to me.

My agreement to perform under camera, lighting and stated conditions is voluntary, and I do hereby waive all personal claims, causes
of action, or damages against SkillsUSA and the employees/representatives thereof, arising from a performance or appearance
